The Sunnat Gerhana Matahari or Sunnat Kusuuf (eclipse) prayer was performed at all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide, in conjunction with the partial solar eclipse witnessed yesterday afternoon.
The prayer was performed in congregation, following the Asar prayer.
At the Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kiarong, the eclipse prayer was led by the mosque’s Senior Religious Officer Haji Haris bin Haji Suboh.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar was in attendance.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang were also present.
Mosque Affairs Officer Aziz bin Haji Abdullah delivered a sermon on the solar eclipse phenomenon.
