I TEAM assistant team manager, Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Mumin has declared their interest of reaching this year’s FA Cup final ahead of their last-four tie against Al Idrus at the Royal Brunei Recreation Club on Friday.
2014 winners Al Idrus head into the tie as overwhelming favourites to advance and set up a titanic showdown against President Cup quadruple-chasing XN FT.
Both Al Idrus and I Team have met at this stage last season with the former emerging victorious.
I Team have not specified the team that provides the most threat but believe every team presents a challenge in their own way to their hopes of securing qualification.
“Our next opponents present a challenge to us as much as the team we face after,” Haji Zulkifli said in preparing his charges for a final berth.
Haji Zulkifli rated their chances of making it to the FA Cup final 50/50 adding that they are determined to reach the championship match.
“We want to have that feeling of reaching a final,” the assistant manager continued.
He also said that the key to success is maintaining a high level of discipline both on and off the pitch.
Asked what his advice would be to the players, he called them to preserve the rhythm of their game and fighting spirt in the hopes of victory.
I Team will have to do the hard way to reach a final this season as they also face defending champions XN FT in the President Cup a week later.
The winner of the tie will meet either XN FT who are searching for a double or Mohais FC.
