Standard Chartered established an Employee Assistance Programme designed to help colleagues and their families manage emotional stresses in daily life.
Standard Chartered Bank and Clarity Sdn Bhd are working together to provide colleagues with professional consultation and confidential support services. Through the Employee Assistance Programme, the bank’s employees will be provided with confidential and multilingual access to qualified consultants for their needs.
Standard Chartered Bank recently orgainsed a talk for employees to help them understand the programme and its benefits, a press release stated. Clarity Sdn Bhd Director Todd McPherson delivered the talk.
Head of Human Resources at Standard Chartered Bank Laila Li said, “Our people’s well-being is one of our top people priorities at Standard Chartered. We recognise that mental well-being is not often discussed although it may significantly impact our daily life, work and personal life. Globally, an estimated 264 million people suffer from depression. As an employer, we would like to be at the forefront to help people in managing these stresses by providing them with professional consultation services.”

The bank continues to observe social and physical distancing measures in the workplace by ensuring adequately spaced seating in its premises and maintaining work from home plans for its units and departments.
