Over 610 kilogrammes of trash were collected from the beach near the Billionth Barrel Monument in Seria yesterday, as part of the ‘Starts From You 2.0’ cleaning campaign.
The day began with a warm-up session, followed by a safety briefing. Over 160 participants picked up trash across a one-kilometre stretch of the beach.
Rosnah Yusof and Sons (RYS) Entertainment conducted the campaign with support from the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board; Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation; Institute of Brunei Technical Education; Politeknik Brunei, Lumut Campus; and Green Brunei.
STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan Seria Village Head Haji Saidin bin Haji Ibrahim, Kampong Bukit Sawat Village Head Mohammad bin Abdullah and village consultative council members also participated.
RYS Entertainment looks forward to continuing its campaign over the next few months.
The next clean up will be at SMR, located at the far end of Jalan Maulana in Kuala Belait on September 27, followed by Jerudong Beach and Muara Beach on October 25 and November 22.
