The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) held a 1442 Hijrah New Year celebration yesterday. Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour.
Permanent Secretary at the MPRT Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Tourism) Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary Abdul Halidi bin Haji Mohd Salleh, heads of departments, officers and staff of the ministry and departments under it were also present.
The ceremony began with the reading of Al-Quran verses and its translation, followed by a religious talk entitled ‘Loyal to Orders in New Norms’ by Dean of Syariah Faculty of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Noralizam bin Haji Aliakbar.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat.
The annual gathering was held to commemorate major Islamic events and to forge closer ties.
The theme for this year’s nationwide Hijrah celebration reads ‘Generasi Berilmu, Beramal dan Berakhlak Memacu Pembangunan Umat’.
