His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the Letter of Credence to Brunei Darussalam’s newly appointed High Commissioner and received Letters of Credence from the newly appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.
His Majesty first presented a Letter of Credence to High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore Dato Paduka Haji Sidek bin Ali.
His Majesty then received Letters of Credence from Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Brunei Darussalam Gerda Winkler; British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam John Virgoe; and High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam Tiffany Anne McDonald.
After the ceremony, His Majesty received in audience the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore. His Majesty also received in separate audiences the newly appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam.
His Majesty first received in audience the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Brunei Darussalam, who was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany in Brunei Darussalam Thomas Heilmaier.
His Majesty next received in audience the British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, who was accompanied by Deputy British Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Natalie Gowers-Barnes.
His Majesty then received in audience the High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam, accompanied by Assistant Defence Advisor at the High Commission of Australia in Brunei Darussalam Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Hauser.
Present at the ceremony were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty, Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd Nawawi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd Taha, Grand Chamberlain Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Nor bin Haji Jeludin.
