A total of 112 officials from private agencies joined the Life Saver 995 briefing conducted by the Public Relations Division of the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) Headquarters.
Thirty-one managers and staff of the Royal Brunei Catering Sdn Bhd (RBC) participating in the briefing at the FRD Technical Building of the Jalan Airport Lama in Berakas on September 10.
The afternoon session saw the involvement of 36 teachers, staff and canteen operators from the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School. Deputy Principal (Academic) Siti Salmiah binti Abas and Deputy Principal (Administration) Pengiran Md Ariffin bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin also attended.
On September 8, 45 managers and staff of Makan Ceria Sdn Bhd participated in the course at the McDonald’s Jerudong Park Drive Thru.
Participants were taught on the importance of fire safety, precautions while hiking as well as how to operate a fire extinguisher.

Meanwhile, 40 officers from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) along with GoldMyne Hardware Sdn Bhd officials participated in a three-day FRD course from August 31 to September 2.
Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MCYS Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said also attended the course at Jalan Airport Lama in Berakas.
Participants were exposed to important workplace safety practices and learnt about what actions to take when encountering fires, how to operate a fire extinguisher and building evacuation.
