Staff in every level of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) play a vital role in the success of projects under the ministry and departments under it towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035, Acting Permanent Secretary at the MPRT Haji Abdul Halidi bin Haji Mohd Salleh said yesterday.

He made these comments at a ceremony where 45 retirees from MPRT and departments under it for year 2018/2019 were recognised for their contribution and loyal service.

The retirees received appreciation and service certificates at a ceremony at the ministry’s Setia Pahlawan Hall with Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong as the guest of honour.

Haji Abdul Halidi said the ceremony served as recognition and appreciation for the contribution and loyal service for the development and progress of primary resources and tourism sectors in the country.

He said, “The MPRT as well as departments under it recorded numerous achievements which were made possible due to the hard work of the officers and staff who devoted their energy and shared ideas for the ministry’s progress and the nation’s development.

“Your contribution is important to the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. On behalf of the MPRT, I would like to convey the highest gratitude for the contribution.”

Haji Abdul Halidi said retirees can continue to contribute to the nation by providing advice and guidance to the new generation, especially youth who are either family members, relatives or friends in carrying out their tasks and responsibilities.

One of the recipients was Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, who was previously the permanent secretary at the MPRT.

Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MPRT and officers were also present.
