Twelve more suspects were arrested recently by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a follow-up of Musang King Operation and named as suspects.
The arrests were made between September 22 to 25, detaining seven men and five women, including a married couple, in several locations in the Brunei-Muara District.
Allegations are sourced from their possession of BND72,000, believed to be proceeds from drugs paid by an earlier suspect.
The money was divided among them and banked into their accounts. Also seized were two receipts believed to be proof of payment for legal advice to the main suspect in the case linked to the operation.
A 21-year-old ‘runner’ among them is believed to be linked to the detainees of the earlier arrests.
From an inspection on a house at Kampong Parit, Jalan Limau Manis, officers seized 14.24 grammes of Syabu estimated to have a street value of BND2,000.
The officers also seized a weighing scale, empty packets, a pair of scissors, a mobile phone and cash.
It is alleged that the suspects are involved in offences of possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs, possession, consumption, conspiring in drugs abuse and money laundering.
