Fifteen students under the I’jaz Al-Quran Academy of the Youth Centre were feted at a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held at the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Youth Centre on Friday.
Acting Deputy Director of Youth and Sports of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Azlan bin Pengiran Haji Tengah Omar was the guest of honour.
The event began with the recitation of verses of Al-Quran led by Wan Ahmad Hazik bin Wan Harris Zaky followed by reading of Dikir Marhaban led by Md Yazid. It continued with the recitation of Takhtim and Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam led by a teaching staff Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Fuad.
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates by the guest of honour.
Since its establishment in 2018, the I’jaz Al-Quran Academy has hosted more than 100 Khatam participants comprised youth, children, members of the public, parents and staff members of the BSB Youth Centre.
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, several activities were halted and some resumed with online classes via Zoom application.
