The public can now access RTBGo on their mobile phones to watch TV shows and listen to radio stations broadcast following the launch of the RTBGo mobile app at OneCity Shopping Centre in Jalan Sungai Hanching yesterday.
Permanent Secretary (Civil Service, Welfare, International and Media) at the Prime Minister’s Office Mohamed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohamed Yunos officiated the new app that can be found in Apple AppStore or Google Play Store
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Civil Service, Welfare, International and Media) at the Prime Minister’s Office Haji Muhammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu, Acting Director of Radio Television Brunei (RTB) Haji Azman bin Haji Abdul Rahim, RTB officers and sponsors were also present.
Assistant head of TV programme of RTB Muhammad Zulkarnain bin Haji Brahim said, “Broadcast technology is currently experiencing changes and evolution like switching from analogue frequency waves to digital and satellite broadcast moving online.”
RTBGo project is one of the four projects to support the vision and mission of Digital Economy Masterplan 2025.
Based on statistics from Google Analytics, Muhammad Zulkarnain who is the chairperson of the launch said, from September 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020, 70 per cent of RTBGo website visitors (320,000) are new and 29 per cent (130,000) are visitors revisiting the website.
Several activities were held during the launch to introduce the public to the new app and its services.
Products and services available on RTBGo are RTB Sukmaindera television channel, all RTB networks, video on demand (VOD) and audio podcast. The public can also follow the GoLIVE channel which broadcast live programmes or special programmes not aired via conventional television channels.
