Universiti Teknologi Brunei holds World Mental Health Day art contest

The Counselling Unit of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Student Affairs Office in collaboration with Student Representative Council (MPP) Executive Committee for Publicity and Info-Communications, Technology (PICT); Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE); and Leadership, Development and Mentor (LDM) organised an art contest for UTB students to express how COVID-19 impacted their mental health.

The art contest from September 7-October 3 had prizes of BND100 for the first place, BND70 for the second place and BND50 for the third place.

The contestants created art to express their thoughts and feelings on the phrase ‘My Mental Health in 2020’ and wrote a short statement about their piece.

Thirteen art pieces were showcased since October 5 at the White Canopy of the university. They were also posted on UTB’s MPP social media account. The top three winners were announced on the UTB World Mental Health Day event.

Dean of Student Affairs Pengiran Ida Nurul-Fitri binti Pengiran Haji Kahar presented the prizes to three winners.

First place went to Mohammad Nadhir bin Haji Mohamed Husaini. The second place went to Mek Shuet Yi and Dayangku Nur Syazwani Rasidah binti Pengiran Adi Noor bagged third prize.

The UTB World Mental Health Day event also included games and activities with the participation of food vendors.
