A total of 23 pints of blood were collected during a blood donation drive hosted by PDS Abattoir in collaboration with Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre yesterday.
Staff members of PDS Abattoir of Batang Mitus and its main office in Gadong participated in the campaign.
PDS Marketing Executive Haji Azaland bin Haji Aliakbar said the campaign was part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities. It was also held to support the efforts of the nation’s hospitals in maintaining constant and adequate blood supply and raise awareness on the importance of regular blood donation.
He added that, PDS encourages its employees and family members to become regular blood donors as an act of charity. PDS, which is one of Darussalam Assets (DA) Group of Companies, plans to hold similar events frequently.
