Brunei Darussalam and the Federal Republic of Germany expressed appreciation for the close ties and cooperation between the two and hoped to continue strengthen people-to-people exchanges and parliamentary exchanges.
This was highlighted when Legislative Council (LegCo) Speaker Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy call from Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Brunei Darussalam Gerda Winkler yesterday.
Both parties touched on matters of common concern, namely on the challenges in facing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The German Ambassador also shared experience and information on how the Federal Republic of Germany coped with the pandemic, including encouraging people wearing face masks to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection.
Both parties hope that a solution can be found to tackle the pandemic.
Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the LegCo Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin bin Haji Asar was also present.
