The Brunei Darussalam delegation led by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar participated in the official opening and plenary sessions of the World Innovation Summit for Health on November 15.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abdul Latif and senior officers of the ministry also attended.
Chairperson of Qatar Foundation Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser officiated the summit, themed ‘One World, Our Health’.
A total of 564 representatives from government and non-governmental organisations attended the summit including the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Ministers of Health from Brunei Darussalam, Nicaragua, Qatar, France, Greece, Oman, Maldives, Dominica, Palestine, and Georgia as well as Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations.
Participants exchanged information through discussions among experts from several well-known institutions.
The summit highlighted global challenges in health affairs and ideas to change healthcare policy.
Over 50 sessions discussed various topics including the COVID-19 pandemic, non-communicable diseases, healthcare technology, and medical treatment. MoH experts will attend the sessions held until today.
