The new Airline Hospitality Business Training under Laksamana College of Business (LCB) has attracted the interest of several Korean students to take up the course in Brunei Darussalam.
One of them is 19-year-old Minseo, who arrived two months ago to join the September intake at LCB.
“I really love the course,” she told the Weekend Bulletin. “After two years, if I get a first-class degree, I can continue my studies at a university in the United Kingdom (UK).”
She also shared her aspirations as a cabin crew member, “I enjoy meeting people, and I want to broaden my views by travelling around the world.
“Our course involved a tour of the Brunei International Airport and Royal Brunei Airlines (RB), where I learnt about the duties performed by the cabin crew and airline pilot. It was a very good experience, which motivated me further to pursue my goal.”
Regarding her impressions of Brunei, she said, “The people here are very kind and friendly. I am also amazed by the mosques in Brunei, as they are so majestic and beautiful.”
She also praised Brunei’s success in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The people really adhere to the guidelines issued by the government. It has helped to control the spread of the disease, thus making Brunei Darussalam one of the safest countries in the world.
“I feel safe here, and I don’t need to wear a mask when I am outside.”
She remains undaunted by the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the airline and travel industry worldwide, saying, “It worries me that airlines have not been hiring any cabin crew, but it doesn’t affect my dreams.
“I hope that when I graduate, the situation will have returned to normal, and I can get a job as a cabin crew member of an airliner.”
