The Belait District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) has been setup to aid residents affected by floods in the Belait District.

The DDMC comprises the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), the Emergency Medical and Ambulance Services (EMAS), the Community Development Department (JAPEM), the Belait District Office and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

Among the affected areas are Mukim Bukit Sawat, Mukim Melilas, Mukim Sukang and Mukim Labi.

An Incident Command Post (ICP) was set up at the Kampong Sungai Mau Multi-purpose Hall as a focal point for the DDMC to gather and monitor the affected areas. It also serves as a logistical centre for distributing aid.

Some of the badly affected areas include Simpang 1366 at Kampong Merangking Hilir, where the water levels exceeded 1.36m, areas in Mukim Bukit Sawat and Mukim Labi with roads submerged.

The ICP also provided transportation for residents unable to use the affected roads by providing boats and four-wheeled vehicles. The service is available from 6am to 6pm.

Affected residents who wish to travel to Mukim Labi are advised to wait for transportation at the Kampong Sungai Mau Multi-purpose Hall, and at the Luagan Lalak Recreational Park.

Those travelling to Kampong Merangking are advised to use the ICP at Sungai Kagu area near Simpang 1366 of Kampong Merangking Hilir.
