Lifting the burden of needy cancer, stroke patients

Managing Director of Ozone Brunei Wu Chun recently handed over BND8,454.78 to Deputy Chair of Medical Social Fund and Head of Early Detection and Cancer Prevention Services of Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) Datin Dr Hajah Noraslinah binti Haji Ramlee.

The fund was collected from proceeds of PinkPOP Festival, a charity event held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Consultant Medical Oncologist Dr Lu Shir Kong was also present.

Chairperson of Medical Social Fund and Director of The Brunei Cancer Centre Dato Seri Laila Jasa Dr Babu Sukumaran said, “The Medical Social Fund (MSF) of PJSC is a non-profit body established in 2019 to provide assistance to underprivileged cancer and stroke patients and their families.

“Funds donated by the public will be used to provide patients in need with daily essentials such as milk powder, diapers, food, medical equipment, and other necessities that give temporary relief.”

Ozone Brunei also held ‘This Ability; A Day For All’ in conjunction with International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The pop-up event provided youth and people with different abilities a platform to connect with their peers, showcase their skills and promote a wide range of abilities. It was joined by Australian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Secretary Dan Seehusen.
