Bringing smiles to rural Belait families

Several families in the Belait District received basic necessities when a delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) made a working visit to rural areas recently to gain a better understanding of the development of religious services in the district.

Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim led the delegation during the visit to Mukim Sukang and Mukim Melilas.

Head of the Policy, Planning and Research Division at the MoRA Pengiran Anak Dr Haji Amiruddin Alam Shah bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ismail and Acting Director of the Islamic Studies

Department at the MoRA Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar were also present.

The contingent’s first stop was at Kampong Sukang Longhouse, where they were briefed by Acting Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Kahar and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Sukang and Longhouse Chief Muhammad bin Abdullah on how the residents benefit from the development of religious services.

The permanent secretary presented basic necessities to 15 families of the longhouse, as well as an electric generator to Hajah Rahmah binti Datu Maharaja Setia Haji Muhammad Simpok @ Rahmah binti DMS Simpok.

He also presented a copy of Al-Quran and Tafsir to the longhouse chief.

The contingent then visited the Penan Longhouse where the permanent secretary handed over a water tank to Zulkhairi bin Abdul Rahim Arin @ Hairi anak Arin, who received on behalf of the longhouse’s residents.

The contingent also visited the Dato Maharaja Setia (DMS) Dian Primary School, where the permanent secretary presented school equipment to 15 students, as well as a copy of Al-Quran and Tafsir for the school.

The contingent’s final stop was Julangan Titah Longhouse, where they took part in a mass Zohor prayer, followed by the handover of basic necessities to 14 families, school equipment to three students and a copy of Al-Quran and Tafsir to the longhouse representative.
