Baiduri Bank Chief Executive Officer Ti Eng Hui on Friday thanked the media for the support over the years.
“It is through your combined efforts that we have been able to reach the masses, informing them of our initiatives, aspirations and innovations, helping us to grow to become the largest leading conventional bank in Brunei today,” he said at Baiduri Bank’s annual media appreciation event at Baiduri Community Space, Baiduri Bank headquarters.
The event themed ‘Madflix’, a play on words of the popular streaming service Netflix, saw close to 100 members of the media participating.
The chief executive officer also highlighted some of the key milestones and achievements this year in his welcome remarks.
“Among some of the highlights this year would be moving to the new Baiduri Bank headquarters, the brand refresh, embarking on technological platforms, collaboration with the Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) on our latest suite of cards and also notable recognitions,” Ti said.


He also made special mention of the awards that the bank won in 2020 including the Domestic Retail Bank of the Year for Brunei from Asian Banking & Finance, the Best Bank in Asia Pacific for Brunei from Global Finance and the Best Banking Group for Brunei from World Finance.
“These achievements are testament to our strength and unwavering commitment towards providing the very best for our customers, stakeholders and partners,” he said.
The event featured a number of activities such as a Money Heist themed relay race, a movie night themed pass-the-parcel game as well as a scavenger hunt.
Baiduri Bank senior management – Deputy CEO of Business Development Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Deputy CEO of Compliance and Corporate Governance Manuel Bulens, Head of Group Treasury and Institutional Banking Lim Kian Chiong, Head of Group Information and Technology Simon Hansman and Head of Group Strategic Marketing and Communications Ng Yick Wei – were also present.
