The Kampong Sungai Bunga Village Consultative Council introduced a new hiking trail suitable for all ages at Bukit Kindana.
Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu Yang Berhormat Naim bin Haji Kamis officiated the opening yesterday.
The main trail measures about seven kilometres with several wasai (waterfalls) spots.
The latest hiking track opening is an initiative by the Kampong Sungai Bunga community to promote the village as a tourist destination. The village has already established popular products unique to the village, such as prawns, fish, lekor, kuih sapit, homemade nuggets, squid crackers as well as a homestay service at Seri Tanjung Homestay.
One of the unique parts of Bukit Kindana carries a history dating back to the 15th Century, where visitors will pass the tombstone of Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Hassan, the ninth Sultan of Brunei.
It is hoped that hikers will be able to learn more about the Sultanate’s rich history while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
