Around 200 cyclists took part in the inaugural Muaraku Ceria cycling expedition, held in Pekan Muara yesterday.
Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Ahmad bin Haji Jumat launched the inaugural expedition, jointly organised by Mukim Serasa and Mukim Mentiri under Zone II.
Legislative Council member and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Serasa Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Othman was present.
He said, “The 21km route is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, while fostering closer ties between the cyclists and the organising committee.”
Acting Penghulu of Mukim Mentiri Pengiran Haji Ismail bin Pengiran Ibrahim said, “It is hoped that the cycling expedition will further enliven the atmosphere of Muaraku Ceria, by cruising through the villages around Pekan Muara.”
