The Language and Literature Bureau’s (DBP) Kampong Pandan Library together with the Sutera (Sungai Teraban) Association are hosting Bazaar Pandanku Ceria.
Acting Permanent Secretary (Community and Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Saidah binti Haji Wahid launched the five-day bazaar at the library yesterday.
Earlier, she was welcomed by Sutera Association Chairman Haji David bin Haji Kassim on arrival.
The acting permanent secretary also presided over the opening of the Sutera Association’s offices on the first floor of the library.
She toured the booths and presented the prizes for an ambuyat-making contest.
Saidah said, “The MCYS supports the efforts made by the association and other agencies in utilising measures for the development and aid of the community.
“It is hoped that such events will take place frequently across the nation, as a platform to benefit the community.”
A total of 28 booths have been set up on the library premises for local entrepreneurs and cultural activities including hadrah, gulingtangan and silat.
