Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin officiated a new recreational park in the Brunei-Muara District, yesterday.
The Bukit Saeh Recreational Park in Kampong Lumapas has four hiking tracks, three of which are challenging, with 16 checkpoints. It also has a bridge, ropes, steps and other amenities.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by welcoming remarks by the co-chairperson of the organising committee.
Following the launch, the minister toured an exhibition and observed a search-and-rescue demonstration before joining a hike.
Bukit Saeh is the highest hill in the district, situated 728 metres above sea level and located about six kilometres from the capital.
Since the committee’s inception on September 22 , 2020, 44 committee members including five women were tasked to handle the administration and welfare of the park, several of which have completed emergency and basic jungle rescue training.
