The family of Haji Mohd Daud (AZ Family) ushered in the new year with the a talent show at a hotel in Gadong.
Haji Azmin said the event was organised to keep up with the annual family tradition and celebrate the meaning of “family”.
Last year, the family had a three-day vacation in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, where they visited a zoo, enjoyed dinner at a seafood restaurant and celebrated December birthdays.
This year, due to travel restrictions, the family organised a talent show with Haji Mohd Daud’s grandchildren being the organising committee.
“We wanted the grandchildren to be familiar with the management of an event,” Haji Azmin said. He also spoke on the importance of teaching the younger generation to keep the family tradition.
The gathering began with a welcoming speech by AZ Family head Haji Azaman bin Haji Mohd Daud. Family talent performances, best-dressed competition and lucky draws enlivened the event.
Hariel’s family won Best Family Talent with their ‘Lion King’ theme followed by Hajah Azmah’s family with ‘Animal Kingdom’ in second place and Hajah Azana’s family with 70’s theme in third.
