Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and spouse Datin Hajah Kalsom binti Haji Suhaili attended the official opening of the Bukit Dadap Recreational Park (TRBD) at Simpang 102 Jalan Dadap, on Jalan Tutong yesterday.
The newly opened five-hectare recreational park has eight waterfalls including Wasai Biabas, Tasik Laboi, Wasai Lumut Mapan, Wasai Dang Umai and Wasai Terjun Menyusup.
TRBD also offers 12-kilometre hiking trails divided into normal, medium and extreme categories.
Organising committee chairman and Kampong Kilanas Acting Village Head Haji Mohammad Ameerolbahrynee bin Haji Abdul Hamid said the recreational park was a result of the efforts initiated by the Kampong Kilanas Village Consultative Council (MPK Kilanas) and village residents.
Following the launch, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi explored the new hiking trails, together with the organising committee members.
Several other activities were also held, including the Wang Kamaaudin Challenge, peeling pineapple skins and traditional games.
