Health Enforcement officers issued compound fines totalling BND650 on four premises for violating the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) directives to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The violations detected during the nationwide Ops Merati included unmasked employees at premises, barbershops and health and beauty establishments, failure to conduct temperature checks at premises and not displaying the BruHealth QR code.
The operation was carried out at 63 business premises in Kiulap, Gadong and Sungai Akar areas in the Brunei-Muara District, Mukim Sungai Liang in the Belait District, Kampong Sengkarai and Kampong Penabai in the Tutong District, and the Pekan Bangar area in the Temburong District.
Business owners, managers and staff have been reminded to adhere to the instructions and directives issued by the MoH and government agencies, particularly on the use of face masks during the preparation and handling of food. Managers are required to obtain the BruHealth QR code and place at a convenient location for customers to scan.
They are also reminded to make use of the PremiseScan app for customers who do not have access to the BruHealth app on their mobile phones, instead of resorting to the approach of taking down personal details in a log book.
Business premises are also required to maintain cleanliness, while food premises must comply with the government guidelines when serving buffets.
