The Jerayawara Bermukun (Let’s Mukun Roadshow) held at the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Library Kampong Pandan, Kuala Belait yesterday enlightened attendees about poetry and tandak (Malay dance), the combination resulting in a Mukun performance.

Organised by Kelab Budaya Mukun Selendang Sutera Brunei saw over 50 attendees.

Club president Irwan Rino bin Nordin said the roadshow was aimed at raising interest in a tradition that is seeing a slow decline.

Among the topics discussed included the history of Mukun and the club’s achievements.

Mukun demonstrations were also held.

The club said there are plans to hold workshops in the other districts.
