The ‘Multaqa with the State Mufti’ programme, aimed at empowering and strengthening the effectiveness of Islamic propagation, was held at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) yesterday.
The programme focussed on empowering the Da’ie (religious preacher) on effective dakwah (points of lectures) methods and mediums that can be used in facing challenges and communities that are made up of different races and religions.
State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned delivered a lecture entitled Melahirkan Da’ie Berkaliber or ‘Towards Producing a Calibre Da’ie’.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy State Mufti Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, permanent and deputy permanent secretary and Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) attended.
The state mufti shared points and methods in delivering effective dakwah including ensuring the points of lectures touch on agendas in the community, and the use of easy-to-understand language.
The programme was organised by PDI through the Dakwah Dissemination Division with the objective of upholding His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah during an unscheduled visit to the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) calling for high-calibre Da’ie.
Lecturers from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), KUPU SB, Imams, officers under the MoRA and State Mufti’s Office, religious teachers, accredited Da’ie, youth Da’ie, Syahadah Da’ie, representatives from Al-Minhaaj Centre and government retirees active in dakwah made up the participants.
