The National Anti-Drug Association (BASMIDA) organised an event as a Day of Action (DOA) 2020 project in conjunction with International Day of Volunteers 2020 at its headquarters in Anggerek Desa yesterday.
BASMIDA President and Working Committee Advisor Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd Ali was the guest of honour.
The event began with a Surah Al-Fatihah recitation by Mukim Saba Religious Hall Imam Shahrin bin Matnor.
It was followed by welcoming remarks by organising committee co-chairperson Hajah Linda Aini binti Abdullah and a speech by the guest of honour.
Datin Hajah Masni said the COVID-19 pandemic instilled patience among Bruneians by following restrictions and health advice by the authorities. She urged attendees to look after themselves and increase their faith and lead a pious life.

The guest of honour also gave words of encouragement to participants of an essay competition where the winner will be awarded an ‘Anti-Drug Ambassador’ certificate.
Hajah Linda Aini said the event was aimed at raising awareness on drug threats and prevention.
She said BASMIDA will conduct similar events regularly.
The event yesterday also saw a talk by Pengiran Haji Kamarulzaman bin Pengiran Haji Chuchu and several activities including slogan and colouring competitions, flower arrangement and headscarf designing workshop as well as an anti-drug quiz.
The event concluded with a prize presentation to the winners.
