The Executive Committee of the 38th Intake for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held a second reunion at the Officers Mess Warrant and Sergeant of the First Batallion, Berakas Garrison recently.
Fifty-four former personnel of various ranks attended the gathering, with Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as the chief guest.
Major (Rtd) Haji Lamat bin Haji Libut, representing the chairperson, welcomed the former colleagues and chief guest.
Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Halbi touched on recruit training, including endurance tests such as tactical training in the jungle and river crossing regardless of the weather.
The 38th intake was the first intake of married recruits who enrolled in the army in 1976. The 123 recruits underwent six months’ training at Bolkiah Camp.
The first reunion was held in March 2017. The gathering was well received.
