Last December, Laysa Lediea binti Haji Maidin got the keys to a brand new MINI Cooper S (Rosewood Edition) as a surprise gift from her husband. Unbeknownst to her, another surprise was in store.
Yesterday, Laysa Lediea bagged the BND5,000 cash prize in the MINI Rosewood Owner lucky draw during a ceremony held in conjunction with the launch of the MINI Cooper Piccadilly Edition.
On hand to award the prize at the MINI Showroom were QAF Auto General Manager Alisa Khoo and MINI Brunei Sales Manager Felda Wong.
Describing the experience as a “double surprise”, Laysa Lediea said, “I was shaking and I couldn’t help it. I had not anticipated winning because my husband and I never had any luck with lucky draws.”
According to MINI, the original prize of a London air ticket had to be changed in view of the COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Nine other MINI Rosewood owners also received exclusive merchandise.
Prior to the draw, MINI Brunei launched the newest special edition MINI One Piccadilly Edition available exclusively in Brunei in the three-door and five-door variants.
The iconic car pays homage to the classic 1986 Mini, and brings the distinct fun-loving MINI character to the forefront.
Similar to how Piccadilly Circus always leads the way in terms of creativity and innovation with its unique digital billboards, this special edition has also embraced digitalisation while honouring the spirit of the original Mini.
One of its features is the eye-catching bonnet pinstripe (available in white or black).
The choice of a thin design in lieu of the traditional thick racing stripe is unique – and perfectly in line with the sophisticated MINI. On the driver’s side, the pinstripe ends with the Piccadilly motif right next to the fuel filler flap.
It also comes equipped with a specially designed wing mirror caps are, another distinctive MINI trait, and the Black Jack mirror caps are another nod to the brand’s heritage.
Among the colour options available are Chili Red, Pepper White, British Racing Green, and Starlight Blue.
Completing the MINI One Piccadilly Edition is the 16-inch Victory Spoke wheels in black as standard – the polished black finish of the wheels is the perfect complement to the car’s vibrant exterior.
Slide into the driver’s seat, and attention is immediately drawn to the 5.5-inch digital instrument cluster, first seen globally on the new MINI John Cooper Works GP and the new MINI Electric.
Other features include the plush upholstery in Leatherette Carbon Black, which is paired with the Carbon Black interior colour line as standard. The three-cylinder petrol engine Piccadilly Edition draws its power from a capacity of 1.5-litres, with a maximum power output of 102hp and a top torque output of 190 Nm. The potent engine features petrol direct injection with a maximum pressure of 350 bar, ensuring that drivers can zip through the ins, outs, and roundabouts of Singapore with effortless flair
