The Land Transport Department (JPD) introduced Nomborku, a new feature on its website that displays vehicle registration numbers which are open to application via Open Tender.
The new function can be accessed at www.jpd.bn/Nomborku, JPD Director Haji Rozaly bin Haji Saidon said at a press conference yesterday.
“This service is a phase-by-phase upgrade implemented by JPD to provide transparent services and to facilitate public transactions with our department,” he said.
“Additionally, JPD will introduce more updated features which include a bilingual function, online applications and payments, and a search function for other numbers.”
Acting Deputy Director of JPD Fadzila binti Abdul Hamid and Head of Information Technology Unit (IT) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) Nor Iswandi bin Haji Rajali were also present.
On the JPD website, the vehicle registration numbers are displayed according to their prices in the following categories: Normal, Silver, Golden and Special.
The displayed prices will be based on the minimum price tender for each category, or the highest bidder made by the public in a closed tender (but have yet to settle the payment within the given period of time and according to the current regulations).
Those interested in obtaining the numbers are required to visit the JPD headquarters or the JPD branch in Kuala Belait, starting today, during counter service operating times.
Applications can be made by filling out a form which can be obtained at JPD counters or via the website. The form needs to be completed before submission, while payment can be made with cash, credit or debit card.
Successful applicants will be given a period of 30 days to register the number. The 30-day registration period can also be extended to three years, by paying a holding fee of BND60.
