A forum on empowering women into the workforce was held on Monday alongside a Women’s Health Exhibition at the Health Promotion Centre (HPC).
Officiating the PREPanita forum was Permanent Secretary (Community and Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari who also visited the Women Hub Exhibition.
The forum had around 60 participants comprisingmainly students from higher education institutions.
The forum had two sessions. The first discussed ‘The World of Work’ and touched on the mentally preparing for joining the job market. This session was hosted by the Mawar Association and the panelists included members of the Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam, representatives from DARe (Darussalam Enterprises), The Community Development Department (JAPEM) and youth volunteer representatives.
The second session was Kommuni-kasih hosted by the Al-Minhaaj Centre and panellists included members of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Family Counselling Services Division, Syariah Affairs Department, Medical Welfare Services Division and the Brunei
Women Project.
Meanwhile, the Women Hub Exhibition showcased activities related to personal development. It also included exhibitions that touched on women’s health including one on Breast Cancer Awareness by Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC).
