Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd (BGC) held a mass Maghrib and Isyak prayers and Doa Kesyukuran in conjunction with its 23rd anniversary at Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kampong Jerudong yesterday.
BGC Managing Director Pengiran Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha led the delegation. Shareholders from various government sectors, community members and BGC personnel attended.
BGC was established on March 9, 1998 to kick-off the nation’s aspiration to develop a strong foothold in the maritime industry commensurate with and reliable and respected provider of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to meet the growing energy needs of the region.
Now at 23rd year, the company employs more than 300 Bruneians with a fleet of five wholly owned and managed A-class vessels. With each passing year the company grows both in size and capability and contribute to the nation’s prosperity and future aspirations.
BGC has accomplished major milestones including being awarded the first blue water shipping company in the nation and stood by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Government initiative of Bruneianisation.
