The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and its departments organised an Israk Mikraj celebration at the Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen Mosque in Kampong Limau Manis recently.
Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour.
Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Usuluddin Haji Mohd Khairul Nazif bin Haji Awang Damit delivered a special talk on honesty, trust and bribery in the context of Israk Mikraj, as well as responsibilities of government officers.
Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar presented a wakaf donation in the form of mosque amenities to representatives.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) and its departments held a similar ceremony yesterday, with Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah as the guest of honour.
This year’s celebration was coordinated by the Employees Trust Fund (TAP). Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, permanent secretaries, heads of departments and divisions as well as officers of MoFE and its departments attended.
Director of Jawi Studies and Turath Book Research Centre of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Harapandi Amaq Hairani bin Dahri delivered a special talk. The ceremony aimed to glorify Israk Mikraj and forge ties among attendees.
