The Borneo Born exhibition is open for public viewing until March 31 from 10am to 10pm at Rimba Point Sports Hub. The exhibit will be closed on Thursdays.
Borneo Born is an educational showcase that brings together photographers and visual artists to celebrate World Wildlife Day and is organised by Kaleidoscope Studio and Barunai Gallery, with event partner Progresif. The main feature of the show is photography of local species captured by field scientists Dr Hanyrol H Sah and Joremy Tony, and wildlife photographer Norsah Kassim.
These photographs are accompanied by a number of paintings and illustrations by local artists inspired by the flora and fauna of Brunei. The theme for this year’s World Wildlife Day is Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet.
The exhibition feature photographs diverse range of species that contribute to the ecosystem. It recognises the dedication of field scientists who spend years documenting wildlife rarely seen by the public and the significance of conservation efforts in protecting wildlife.
The featured photographs are printed by Kaleidoscope Studio and framed by Alley Frame. Besides the three feature photographers, 13 local visual artists and photographers are participating in the show.
Their works are in a range of mediums from painting to digital artwork, printwork and sculpture.
