Shotokan JKMO reign supreme at karate meet

SHOTOKAN JKMO of Indoor Stadium Dojo emerged the overall champion of the Under-23 Karate-Do Championship organised by Shotokan and BRUKAF in cooperation with the Youth and Sports Department at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Sports Complex in Berakas yesterday.

Cassandra oof Sports School won the 14-15 Girls -47kg category. Amal Asikin from STPRI took Silver, Vivi Amal from Tutong took first bronze and second bronze went to Dayangku Afrina Aziah from MD.

Rodhyatul Adhwanna from Indoor Stadium won the 14-15 Girls -54kg category, Geneva from Temburong took silver, Nur Batrisyia from STPRI took first bronze and second bronze went to Anis of Sports School.

Nuraliah from STPRI won the 14-15 Girls +54kg category. Adrian from MS took Silver, Addelin of STPRI took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Siti Nor Khadizah also from STPRI.

Muhammad Hafiz from UTB won the 18-23 Men’s -55kg category with Abdul Hadi from RKBD taking Silver. Ahmad Danish from MD took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Adlan from Temburong.

Abang Muhammad Hasif of Wado KB won the 18-23 Men’s -60kg category. Md Khairul Aqmal from Temburong grabbed Silver, Mohd Amirul Aqrabi from MS took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Mohd Azizul Izwan from Tutong.

Nazri Fakhrullah from Temburong won the 18-23 Men’s +75kg category, Muhd Fitri if UTB grabbed Silver, Muhd Rafie from Temburong took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Md Asyraf Nazhem from RKBD.

Muhammad Amirul Azri from UTB won the 18-23 Men’s -67kg & -75kg category. Han Yong Teng from Temburong took Silver, 1st Bronze went to Azizul Hakeem from UTB and Md Raimi from also from Temburong took 2nd Bronze.

Syafiqah from Temburong won the 18-23 Ladies -45kg & 50kg category. Liyana Nur Irdina from Indoor Stadium won Silver, Nur Afifah of UTB took 1st bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Nuratiqah of Wado KB.

Aufa Bazilah from Indoor Stadium won the 18-23 Ladies -55kg category. Nurhafiqah from Wado KB took Silver, Siti Nur Sabrina from Indoor Stadium took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Nurul Hakimah from UTB.

Umi Fakhriyah from Wado KB won the 16-17 Girls -53kg category. Syaza Nur Ain of UTB took Silver, Aina from MD took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Siti Natrah from Sports School.

Amirah Syahidah of Indoor Stadium won the 16-17 Girls +53kg category, Feliscia Issau from Temburong took Silver, Khairunnisa Haziqah took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Nur Afina from PTE.

Team UTB won the 18-23 Men’s Team Kata event, Team Temburong grabbed Silver, Team Wado KB took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Team RKBD.

Team Indoor A won the 18-23 Ladies Team Kata event and their comrades, Team Indoor Stadium B took Silver. Team Sports School A took 1st Bronze and 2nd Bronze went to Team Temburong.

Shotokan JKMO Indoor Stadium Dojo grabbed 14 gold, seven Silver and six bronze for a total of 27 medals.

Runners-up Shotokan Sports School won nine gold, four silver and 12 bronze medals.

Third place went to Shotokan Temburong with three gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals.

Shotokan UTB grabbed three gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Wadokai KB won three gold, a silver and six bronze medals.

Rengokai took two gold, four silver and 12 bronze medals.

Gojukai won two gold medals, three silver and two Bronze.

Shotokan STPRI grabbed a gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

Shotokan SMSSA grabbed two silver and two bronze medals.

Shotokan Tutong managed to get a silver and seven bronze medals.

Shotokan MD grabbed a silver and four bronze medals,

Shotokan MS grabbed a silver and two bronze medals.

Shotokan PTE managed three bronze medals.

Head of Sports Coaching and Development Unit; Kifli Hj Jaafar, President of Brunei Darussalam Karate-Do Federation (BRUKAF); Head of Sports Coaching and Development Unit Kifli Haji Jaafar and Umi Kalthum Haji Abdul Karim from Youth and Sports Department presented the medals.
