THE Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) employees’ welfare body through its religious division held a Korban ceremony to mark Hari Raya Aidiladha yesterday at the YSHHB Headquarters in Jalan Kumbang Pasang.
During the ceremony, the Chairman of Yayasan Board of Directors, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, who is also Minister of Education, presented the Korban meat to the representatives of the recipients.
Nine buffaloes, a cow and three goats were slaughtered in conjunction with the ceremony that was participated by 76 officers, teachers and staff of YSHHB and their families.
The portions of meat which were to be distributed to the poor were received by Village Head of Kampong Bolkiah A, Shahminan bin Haji Matzin and Village Head of Kampong Bolkiah B, Shamsudin bin Haji Maidin.

Also receiving the meat on behalf of the recipients were Imam of Kampong Benutan Mosque, Hairol Mazlan bin Abdul Razak; Imam of Kampong Bebuloh Mosque, Muhd Izzul Islam bin Abdullah; and Imam of Kampong Bukit Mosque, Haji Azley bin Haji Muhd Aliuddin.
The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of contributions of $500 each from the YSHHB employees’ welfare body as well as from YSHHB Employee Charity Fund (TADEKHA) to the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA).
