YANG Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was one among the little ballerinas of Fitness Zone who received merit of awards yesterday at Jerudong International School (JIS) for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Result Listings for Pre Primary Level.
Fitness Zone Managing Director Wu Chun presented the awards at the rehearsals for the Roots and Wings Charity Concert which is scheduled to take place on September 17 at JIS.
Also receiving the merit of awards was Atiyah Zahreen binti Mohamad Taufil, Eshlee Hii Xin Yue, Qistinah Darwisyah binti Muhammad Amir Hadzre, Shayna Goh Shin Yi and Shi Yan Huang Han Jin.
The examination was held on May 17, 2016 by RAD Examiner Dale M Coles at Fitness Zone.
“We would also like to thank to parents and guardians who lent their support throughout these preparations,” Wu Chun said, adding that “it is additional encouragement to the children if they see their parents supporting them.”
Wu Chun later added that it is their goal to not only create an atmosphere of team work, education and discipline at an early age, but also to develop confidence as they are given the chance to perform.
Samuel Milan, a RAD teacher, expressed gratitude to SR Designs for sponsoring ballet outfits for the ballerinas.
The RAD ballerinas will perform at the Roots and Wings Charity Concert alongside local Brunei talents to raise funds for two non-profit organisations – Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam and La Vida Bhd.
Fitness Zone has catered to young girls’ Ballet Classes since 2014, while RAD is one of the world’s most influential dance education organisations that aims to set standards in classical ballet, and is a global leader in Continuing Professional Development for dance.
RAD exams and assessments aim to motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities with the main focus on creativity and musicality, with the graded system providing opportunities to progress and achieve.
