UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Brunei National Chapter, held an awareness talk on Autism yesterday at the Auditorium, UNISSA, Gadong.
In a welcoming speech, Acting Dean
of Faculty of Shariah and Law Dr Hajah Hanan binti Pehin Dato Haji Abdul Aziz highlighted the importance of students having first-hand experience which will be beneficial and fulfilling not to themselves but to the society as a whole which is crucial in maintaining one’s exceptionality as one of the Islamic counterparts.
Presenting the talk entitled ‘Awareness on Autism’ was the President of Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, Malai Haji Abdullah bin Malai Haji Othman, on autism as well as the need of raising public awareness on the topic.
Aimed on increasing awareness on autism, the talk was also attended by students of Faculty of Syariah and Law, UNISSA.
