YANG Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was one of the young talents that delighted the audience last night, during the Roots and Wings Musical Charity Event at the Jerudong International School (JIS) Arts Centre.
Several performing troupes and young musicians took part in the fundraiser, including Fitness Zone Ballerinas and Contemporary Dancers, En Pointe Brunei, Hand Mime, Relentless Entertainment Brunei, Sunday @ 8, Dance Synergy, DEL MAR Virtuoso Music School and Expression Music Academy.
In her welcoming speech, Cynthia Bong, the chairperson of the event, expressed her pride in the young participants for working really hard to make the show a success, while showcasing their creative talents.
Wu Chun, the concert’s goodwill ambassador, said in a press statement, “I’ve always had a passion for the arts and culture. And I wanted to contribute by giving the local youths the opportunity to develop. In my younger days, it never occurred to me that I would be given a big break to perform on a global stage! It’s really enjoyable to watch these promising acts.”
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD) and La Vida Berhad, a non-profit family centre for children with special needs.
