WINNERS of the 4th Suzuki 4×4 Challenge Cup 2016 were announced at the Gala Night held at the Boustead Showroom in Beribi.
Present as guest of honour was Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Tourism) at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
Chai Mun Shin from team Kuching Sarawak Off Roaders emerged as the champion for the Open Modified category with a Super Stage point of 575, walking away with $2,000 and a set of Yokohama (M/T) tyres.
Haji Md Tasyrif bin Haji Ibrahim was named the champion for the Standard category, winning a set of Nexen (H/T) tyres and cash prize worth $800.
As for the Team Relay category, team Vance Lee took the victory, having them take home a cash prize of $1,800 plus a set of Kenda (A/T) tyres.
The challenge was held for two consecutive days over the weekend at the 4WD Track in Tanah Jambu/ Salambigar. The annual event was divided into three categories, which successfully attracted not just local 4WD enthusiasts, but also off-road lovers from Sabah and Sarawak.
Also present for the event was Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai, Managing Director of Boustead Sdn Bhd; Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer and Col (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Chuchu, Patron of Persatuan Kereta Tahan Lasak Brunei (PKTLB).
Lim Jin Lee, the Executive Manager of Boustead Sdn Bhd expressed his delight on the overall success of the event as well as his gratitude towards the sponsors, the cooperation of the participants as well as the public.
