HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam yesterday arrived safely in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to attend the 20th Annual Leaders’ Consultation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.
Accompanying Their Majesties were His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; as well as other members of the royal family.
Present at the Subang Air Base to greet Their Majesties and the royal family were Dato’ Sri Haji Anifah bin Haji Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and wife; Tan Sri Noh bin Omar, Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government as the Minister-in-Attendance and wife; Datuk Ghulam Jelani bin Khanizaman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam; as well as senior officers from the Government of Malaysia.
Also present were Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education; Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II and wife; Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister’s Office and wife; and Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Mohd Taha, the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia and wife.
Their Majesties then walked past a static guard before boarding the motorcade to a renowned hotel in Kuala Lumpur where Their Majesties will reside throughout the trip.
The Annual Leaders’ Consultation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia has been held since 1997, with the 19th Annual Leaders’ Consultation held on August 11, 2015 in Brunei Darussalam.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day in Brunei Darussalam prior to Their Majesties’ departure, a Doa Selamat was recited at the Istana Nurul Iman by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to Their Majesties were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah binti Dato Haji Nasir; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Nor’ain; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Nasibah; and other members of the royal family.
Also present were the grandchildren of Their Majesties, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Raqiib bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim; and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Haseeb bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim.
Also present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell to Their Majesties were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, members of the Privy Council, deputy ministers, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, the Commissioner of Police, and their respective spouses as well as the Charge d’Affaires of the High Commission of Malaysia in Brunei Darussalam.
