STANDARD Chartered Bank (SCB) Brunei will be sending a 52-strong contingent to compete in six events at the Tri Nation Games Challenge among Standard Chartered Malaysia and Singapore.
In addition to nowling, futsal and basketball, it’s also the first time SCB Brunei will compete in the pool and netball events.
Anirvan G Dastidar, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Brunei, said, “As a bank, we have a culture that recreation and staff engagement outside of work are very important.
“The Games is mainly for staff members to get together and get to know each other better outside office.”
“The great thing about the Tri Nations Games is that it showcases our international network and just how we can leverage on it.”
Last year, Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Brunei basketball team were crowned champions.
Yong Kui Seng, captain of the team, is confident of retaining the title.
“Our preparations have been going well. We have been engaging in private training sessions and we are ready to defend the title.
“The team has been improving although we have lost some players from last year’s team.
“We also have some new key players added to the squad. We will definitely put up a good fight.”
