THE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) named 10 finalists for the Citra Budaya 2016 Final during a ceremony held at the ministry’s DiGadong hall.
The selected finalists are Haji Zul Azmi bin Haji Mohin, Mohd Khairul Nazri bin Haji Johari, Dayangku Amal Fitri Radhiyah binti Pengiran Ahmad, Jamain bin Haji Tarip, Nurazizah binti Haji Muhaidin, Haji Muhd Ubaidah bin Haji Awang Damit, Kamisahnor binti Hashim, Ad Mustafa bin A Dahli, Dayangku Amallizawati binti Pengiran Ahmad, and Pengiran Md Fauzie bin Pengiran Zainal Abidin.
The Citra Budaya 2016, which is set to be held on October 29 at the Raya Hall of Radio Television Brunei (RTB), is a Brunei Traditional Song Competition that aims to bring interest towards Brunei traditional songs among the people especially youths.
It is also an effort to expose the traditional songs to today’s generation in order to preserve them and inculcate love towards Brunei traditional culture and heritage especially among the 18-40 years old age group.

The Culture and Arts Division at the ministry will be holding an intensive workshop for the finalists prior to the final.
The workshop aims to provide in-depth training to the finalists in various areas of singing the traditional songs such as understanding the uniqueness of carrying traditional songs in terms of the vocal quality and traditional music.
