THE annual joint air force exercise between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore opened yesterday with a ceremony held at the 238 Squadron’s Parade Square, No 2 Wing at Berakas Garrison.
Exercise AIRGUARD was officially opened by the Commander Operations Group, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Colonel (U) Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim. Also present were Commander Divisional Air Defence Group (DAG), Colonel Alvin Yeo Hian Leong and Commanding Officer 18 DA BN, Lieutenant Colonel Ang Teo Hong from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).
This year’s exercise marks 22 years of joint exercises between the RBAirF and RSAF.
Scheduled for October 4-18, 2016, the exercise is participated by the No 2 Wing, RBAirF and 18 Divisional Artillery Battalion (18 DA BN) of the RSAF.
Exercise AIRGUARD, incepted in 1994, aims to strengthen the joint cooperation between both air forces.
