THE ‘Maritah Berdudun Project 2016’ mini exhibition was officially launched yesterday at Silaturrahim Hall at the Youth Centre in the capital.
The one-day mini exhibition was part of the Maritah Berdudun Project 2016 organised by students of the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE), a graduate faculty of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), in collaboration with the students of Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (MDPMAMB).
The event was organised as part of their coursework under the curriculum development and innovation religious education course. Dr Rozaiman bin Makmun, Leader Programme, Graduate Professional Development, was present to launch the exhibition in his capacity as guest of honour.
The mini exhibition was divided into four sections, namely, station one (exhibition and explanation on bathing the deceased, station two (demonstration on how to ‘Kafan’ the deceased), station three (demonstration on who to perform ‘Solat Jenazah’), and station four (exhibition on earlier preparation before the project starts).
The event began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by welcoming remarks from Pengiran Dr Hajah Nur Ashikin binti Pengiran Haji Petra, Project Advisor of Maritah Berdudun 2016.
The event later continued with a stage performance.
The event also saw the presentation of souvenirs to the guest of honour, principal of MDPMAMB, representative of Youth Centre Officer, representative of MDPMAMB’s students and committee members of the project.
The project titled ‘Tuntutan Fardhu Kifayah: Kesedaran dan Kefahaman’, provided essential information to students and youths in the country to raise awareness on the preparation and implementation of Fardhu Kifayah.
The project aimed to provide an experience and lessons to the students and instil mutual cooperation throughout the project.
It also sought to enhance theoretical and practical understanding based on the National Education System for the 21st Century through simulation associated with one of the Fardhu Kifayah and make data evaluation as an innovative learning platform particularly in religious subjects.
