THE grand finale of the 9th Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) Home Showcase was held yesterday at the bank’s Kiulap branch, and saw winners of a drawing competition presented with prizes.
Attending the finale as guest of honour was Hajah Noraini binti Haji Sulaiman, BIBD Deputy Managing Director, along with management and staff of the bank.
The proceedings began with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Haji Sahrol bin Haji Latif, followed by a presentation of prizes for the #BIBDlittlesavers drawing competition. Held via BIBD’s Instagram for children aged four to 15 year olds, the competition gave participants the opportunity to visualise their dream home though their drawings.
“It is hoped that from this activity the children are able to develop an understanding of home ownership at an early age, in addition to creating awareness on financial planning,” a BIBD press release stated.
The prizes were presented by the guest of honour in the form of cash deposits credited into their respective BIBD accounts.
The children who won prizes in the competition are: 1st prize of $200 was won by Noor Muhd Asa bin Salim, 2nd prize of $150 went to Saflinatul, 3rd prize of $100 was won by Tom, while two consolation prizes of $50 went to Raid and Fathan.
The event then continued with a tour of the vendors booths by the guest of honour.
The vendors had on offer a range of products, including food, home appliances and accessories as well as clothing, and the event looked to provide them with a platform to introduce and expose their business to the general public.
Carrying a ‘Family Day’ theme and with around 40 vendors gathering at the venue, the event looked to provide the public a prime location for a family outing.
BIBD’s event partner, My Space Gallery Sdn Bhd, a company that caters for home, office and building solutions, as well as a design and product consultancy, also presented a replica of a kitchen interior design for the public to experience.
The grand finale also saw the participation of well-known and established partners in the property, realtor and housing development industry, such as J-FA, Primeland Estate Agency, Valor Property Agency and BN Hartajati, among others.
Hajah Noraini expressed hope that the Home Showcase Festival has been able to provide a positive impact for BIBD customers and the public, providing them with better insight and understanding on the importance of home ownership, especially young executives who have just embarked on their career, in addition to having an appreciation on the importance of financial planning, which will help them prepare in planning for purchasing or building a home, through the assistance and guidance of personal bankers present throughout the Home Showcase Festival.
While the festival ended yesterday, BIBD customers and the public can still enjoy special offerings on home improvement financing, personal financing, consolidation financing and special waivers on processing fees until October 24 at the main branch as well as Kiulap, Manggis, The Mall, Rimba, Tanjong Bunut and Kuala Belait branches.
