KUPU SB’s new graduates feted

THE new graduates of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), who received their degrees at the 6th Convocation Ceremony, were feted to a dinner last night at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre (ICC).

Acting Deputy Ra’es of KUPU SB Dr Abang Hadzmin bin Abang Haji Taha congratulated the graduates for their achievement and contribution to the university.

At the event, a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between KUPU SB and six other universities in Indonesia and Malaysia that include Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar, Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM), Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Batusangkar, Kolej Universiti Islam Perlis (KUIP), Institut Agama Islam Negeri Palopo and Institut Agama Islam Negeri Bukittinggi.

The dinner also saw the presentation of awards to graduates who excelled in their studies and contributed to the college, including the Dean Award and the Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd prizes.

Presenting the awards was Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs, the guest of honour at the ceremony.

Also attending the event were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA); deputy permanent secretaries at the MoRA; and representatives from the Malaysian and Indonesia universities.
